So I started exploring taking portraits.
And found that being a model isn't everyone's dream. Or maybe I should rephrase that; a lot of people want you to take their portrait, if the end result makes them look like they're a part of a high gloss commercial shot for a beauty product. Trust me, I don't judge this at all, I'm the same way myself.
I want to look great in photos, I'd love to have a team to work with my hair, makeup and wardrobe before the photo session and another team to touch up on the photos after they've been taken. We all want to look better, more beautiful and without flaws.
The irony is photos like that makes everyone look a like, sculpted in the same mold, painted in the same color scheme. It kills the beauty of individuality, of imperfections; the beauty of what's real and honest. The imperfections that we rather not have shown in photos are often the details that makes us beautiful and special to those who love us.
But most importantly, you're beautiful because you're you and that includes the way you look.
I want to take this opportunity to thank those that have agreed to model for me. I highly appreciate your time, patience and giving me the opportunity to learn.
